After several months of sporadic posts and being inundated with a new baby, work, and family illnesses, I’m happy to announce the return of my normal posting schedule. The new year holds some exciting things for this blog, including a new series on editing, additional tips, a Q&A session on Twitter, and more! First off, I want to say thank you to all of you who have patiently waited and stuck with me through the last several months. I haven’t been able to give you guys the amount of content I’d been hoping for, and I’d like to change that. I want to give a special thanks to litchic, smwright, and writeofpassage (Wordpress) as well as scribbledwriting and bibliochor (Tumblr) for their constant support and mentions. You guys have no idea how much that means to me.
Next, I want to say welcome to all my new followers! There are too many of you to name, but you know who you are, and it’s awesome to have you all as readers. ^_^
These past few months have been filled with so many changes for me. Some tough decisions were made, but wonderful new opportunities have arisen as well. As many of you know, I have been working as the graphic designer/layout artist for the literary magazine The Corner Club Press for the past year. In more recent months, I doubled as their copy editor too. However, after an awesome year holding those positions, I have decided to resign. The choice wasn’t easy. But in the end, trying to balance that along with two kids and a rapidly growing editing business just proved to be too much. So, as much as it pains me to say so, the most recent issue (found here) will be my last. Here’s a big thank you to the wonderful staff for making my experience there one of the best it could be. I will miss working with you guys!
I plan on taking advantage of the little bit of extra time I’ve gained to spend working on my own writing and getting this blog back on track. After all, the reason for all of this takes root in the fact that I have a passion for writing, and I don’t want to lose that. So in the coming months, you can expect to see some new posts regarding my own writing projects in addition to the normal posts. Hopefully with news of some publications too. Fingers crossed!
Thanks again, everyone, for hanging in there. The official relaunch starts next week. You’ll see tons of updates and new content being posted in the days leading up to that, but the major stuff will come with the relaunch.
In the meantime, happy writing!
